Farmers Markets have sprung up in many towns and villages over the past few years. If you're visiting The West of Ireland chances are on most Saturdays and Sundays in the summer months you will find a market near you.
Doolin Saturday Market and Craft Fair is usually an indoor market that takes place at the Michael Russell Centre or the Doolin Hotel grounds. The stalls have home grown produce and baked goods to fill your bags for sure. If you're a visitor to Doolin or Ireland you may be able to find some unique gifts or memorabilia to take home with you. Hand crafted pottery, woodwork, jewelry and other small accessories are also on display.
One good tip to remember when you're planning on going to the market, don't eat a big breakfast! You may not be able to pass up the fresh goods.

Burren in Bloom Festival 2013

If you haven't visited The Burren yet there is still time left to catch some events of The Burren in Bloom Festival. This is perhaps the most magical time of year in the region with the seasonal flowers coming into bloom. Two family events are coming up on May 25th in Carron and Kinvara, visit HERE for more information.
This unique festival aims to give people a better understanding and appreciation of The Burren's botanical and archaeological importance. With a series of illustrated talks and walks there are lots of ways to learn about The Burren Region.
The festival is coordinated by The Burren Beo Trust, Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark, and the Burren College of Art.

Féile an tSamhraidh ~ Burren Summer Festival

If you have plans for the June Bank Holiday already, break them!
The fun starts on Friday May 31st with a variety concert in St.Johns Hall, Ballyvaughan. Music will be playing in all pubs and corners of the village. On Sunday night swing on down to Fanore for music, food, and dancing in O'Donohue's Pub. The Five Counties Ceíli Band will be performing from 9:30pm.
For all you car buffs BOBBS Classic & Vintage Car run will take place on Monday followed by an open air concert in The Square, Ballyvaughan at 3:00pm.
And for the main event! The Walls Band, Paddy Casey, and more will be performing at The Community Field, Ballyvaughan from 4:30pm~11:00pm. Be sure to get your tickets in advance!

Clare Burren Marathon Challenge

This marathon is a truly unique event. The route includes road, green road and trail challenges across a magnificent and rugged landscape. The routes provide stunning views of The Burren, Gleninagh Castle, Galway Coast, and even The Aran Islands from the road and mountainside.
There are options for all to participate including a full, half, and mini marathon. Walkers are welcome! All participants will be chip timed, water & fruit will be available along all routes. The main sponser of the event Logues Lodge will provide a warm welcome with soup & rolls for all participant's as they finish.
