September & Early October is the time to be in Lisdoonvarna. For over 150 years after the harvests are safely in, bachelors from all corners (or soft edges) of the country have been rambling to the “Spa” in hopes to find their match.
Today the Matchmaking Festival has become Europe’s largest Singles event with people from all over the world participating. Willy Daly is the current and only professional matchmaker left in Lisdoonvarna. At the end of the festival you can often find him here with us in Doolin for a trip out to Inis Oírr. Himself and his daughter Claire will be there brewing up magic for the length of the Festival. So if your in the market for a match or just looking for a spin or two on the dance floor, they are the people to see!
Dances are held daily from 12:00pm noon every day of the week. There are plenty of charming B&B’s, Pub’s & Restaurant’s in the area, so don’t miss out!
